Well, I'm sure after posting this new entry on our blog - we will be labeled "the Crazy People"! Yes, we have become a homeschooling family. I feel really silly admitting it because we aren't the "typical" homeschooling family. We didn't do it because we think we can provide the optimal learning environment at home for our kids or because we think we know what the best curriculum is for our kids. We were put in a situation that needed attention and after prayer - we decided to handle the problem this way. We will be putting our kids back in the public school system in the future because their mother isn't smart enough to keep on doing it this way!!!
We started homeschooling in December. We went ahead and started Cooper with school too so it wouldn't be so hard on Emma. Since then, Cooper has learned all his letters and sounds and is reading simple books. Emma is trying to learn her multiplication table and isn't so fond of her mother correcting her punctuation ALL THE TIME. We just hope that by doing this for a while we can give our kids a more solid foundation and confidence in themselves for the future no matter what school they'll be in. Its been a big learning experience all around!
Rod is very busy with work! Lately, he has been spending a couple of days a week at the legislature trying to help with some bills that would effect Navajo County. He has been working long hours and doesn't like all the travel that comes with this job. When he was hired, his boss told him that he would have "light travel". We're learning that he didn't exactly tell us what his idea of "light travel" is. The governor is coming up to Navajo County next week and Rod is in charge of the whole show. Hopefully he'll get a break sometime soon to recoup.

So fun to have an update from ya.
Sounds like "Mrs. Ross" is doing a very good job with her kiddos! Reading and multiplication...fun stuff.
:) Keep it up. You'll receive such blessings.
Stephanie, best of luck with home schooling. I would never choose it as my first option, but there are definitely some situations where it is the best option available. I'm sure your kids have a great teacher!
WOW! You've got a LOT on your plate! I hope things slow down for Rod at work and that home schooling goes GREAT!
I don't think you're psycho at all for homeschooling, especially if you know it's what's best for your kiddos! Good luck and I hope it's going well!
I found your blog while I was on Robert and Natalie's ~ hope you don't mind if I leave a post. Good luck with the homeschooling....I know it really does address issues the educational system can't. Your kids will have the best of both worlds.
